About Bruce
Bruce is a tall, lanky, witty Canadian with a passion for encouragement and a gift for helping people grow. A former accountant and professor of accounting, Bruce is using his gift for public speaking to help people become more successful and fulfilled in life.
Bruce is the author of the book “Attitude Determines Destiny” and would love to talk with you about how he might be able to ignite more of that burning spark inside you and your company to set you on an even faster path to happiness and success.

Bruce has personally set a goal of giving 50 public speeches in 2012; right now he’s at 30+ and he’s not slowing down. Most of his speeches are given to professional and community organizations in Seattle, Bellingham, and other great cities in Washington State and British Columbia. His speeches are mostly in the field of motivation.
Bruce was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada where he attended Dalhousie University. After a time as an officer in the Canadian Navy, he became a Chartered Accountant with Touche, Ross & Co. Later he lived in the San Francisco Bay area where he was a professor of accounting and computers for 25 years at California State University in Hayward. He has also been a business consultant for the past 30 years.
Bruce is single and currently resides in beautiful Anacortes. He belongs to Anacortes Dockers Toastmasters, Philosophically Speaking Toastmasters and Whidbey Sounders Toastmasters. He has been a member of Toastmasters for less than a year and has completed his Competent Communicator and his Advanced Communicator Bronze.
Bruce, who was extremely shy when he was younger, says that public speaking is his passion in life.
