How Can You Become Self Motivated?

One of the most important ways to achieve success and happiness is through self-motivation. No one can run your life for you even though some may try. When you were a child, your parents and teachers guided your life. But upon leaving school you must manage your own life.

Do you actively manage your own life?

  • Do you decide what you want in life, set goals to get them and then lay out plans to achieve those goals?
  • Do you take action every day towards your goals? Just one hour of action every day towards your written goals will yield unbelievable results.

It amazes me that most people don’t do this simple but powerful activity.

In the United   States, we refer to the 1% or 5% who are wealthy like they are somehow bad people because they have what most of us want. Well, we can all achieve it for ourselves if we just spend some time working towards it. Most people spend more time watching television than working towards being wealthy. Just think, if we gave up television we could be wealthy and do whatever we want to do.

Achieving goals is not very difficult. It is a simple 3 step process:

  1. Decide what you want in life
  2. Write it down
  3. Take action to achieve it

Does that sound hard or time consuming?

If you take a book and for the next 30 days take a few minutes each day to write down your goals you will see your life start to change. I recommend that you write down goals that you want to achieve during the next month, the next year and the next 5 years. Each day as you write them down, picture yourself as having already achieved each goal.

It may be a phone call or picking up a book and reading or walking around the block or not eating a dessert or not smoking a cigarette. Every day take some action towards your goals.

Just think about this; if you work towards a goal every day for one year, you will achieve great results. If you continue for 3 to 5 years, you will be a national expert.
